WINNETKA: Winnetka Chamber of Commerce member Canoga Park Bowl held a grand opening ceremony for their new Winnetka Convention Center on Thursday, September 22, 2005. The Convention Center replaces the former Banquet Room at the Canoga Park Bowl hotel. The room boasts a raised ceiling, improved lighting, and sky lights. 

The new Convention Center is the result of a new partnership between Gene Giegolt and local developer Rickey Gelb. It's only one step in a long line of improvements that are set for this local business. Gelb is working on developing the corner of the property located on Winnetka Ave and Vanowen Ave. Plans call for a new shopping center with modern facades and major franchise tenants. The site will also include a memorial waterfall dedicated to firefighters and paramedics. Geigolt, also has plans future plans to add additional retail space on the north side of the bowling alley.
